MC, Registered Provisional Psychologist
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists and certified to conduct Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR). My educational background consists of a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University in Alberta.
I have worked as a counsellor in Fort McMurray and Calgary, Alberta. Most of my counselling experience includes working with adults, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health concerns, sexual trauma, school related concerns, and a variety of other life stressors. My approach to counselling is genuine, empathic, sensitive, and open minded, with a straight forward touch. I use a client-centered approach to counselling, meaning I use a variety of counselling models and techniques to meet the unique needs of the client. I truly enjoy empowering others on their healing journey and supporting others to reach their goals by accentuating their strengths and offering a non-judgemental environment.
