Healthy relationships are vital to our emotional well-being.
The experience of separation and divorce can leave us feeling out of control, hopeless, lonely, depressed, angry, or that there is something fundamentally wrong with us. The wounds from a separation or divorce can last for up to many years if left unaddressed.
As with any significant loss, it can be helpful to obtain support from others who have experienced something similar. Participants in support groups have an opportunity to break through feelings of isolation and to build connections with others. They also learn new coping strategies, and gain new perspectives on their situation. It often helps to be able to speak to others who are more objective, in a non-judgmental and supportive environment.
Our counsellors are experienced in facilitating groups and in supporting individuals experiencing loss from separation or divorce. They ensure group safety and confidentiality, and are present during groups to guide and facilitate discussion.
